Hooky bobbing

Hooky bobbing: An activity which a sled is attached to the back of a truck and pulled around with somebody on the sled, often with the truck moving at high speeds.

Matt and I have seen people sledding from behind an SUV/truck/ATV for years, but today we learned that it had a name... hooky bobbing!  And, for the first time today, I took the kids hooky bobbing.  Matt was working and the kids had today off of school due to snow.  A friend of mine with a vehicle that has four wheel drive took me, the kids and her kids hooky bobbing.  The kids LOVED it and couldn't get enough.  Just for the record, we didn't hooky bob at high speeds, like the definition states.

I enjoy shoveling our drive way when it snows and the kids love being outside, playing in the snow.  Today I shoveled the drive way while it was still snowing.  After I finished, Adrianna asked me if she could shovel the newly fallen snow.  She went behind me and shoveled just like I had done.  She made me smile!  :-)

New address and other new news...

Yes it's been a long time since I've blogged.  Before I had kids, I was fantastic at multitasking!  Slowly over the years, my projects (i.e. this blog!) have taken a backseat to caring for the kids.  Not a bad thing, of course, just reality.  I thought once the kids started school, that I would have more time for myself, or just more free time in general.  All you moms with school age kids know that the opposite is true.  I feel like I'm busier now more than ever.  I didn't realize how boring and slow life was when Julian was a baby!  :-)  First news... we moved... AGAIN!  We bought a house in Star, ID.  With as much as we have moved over the years, I told Matt that we're dying in this house!  I love our new house and it's the first time I've actually starting decorating a place we have lived in.  I always knew we were going to move so I never decorated beyond hanging pictures.  It's been fun to paint and buy things for the house.  We live at the end of a cul-de-sac so the kids are always outside in the street playing with neighbor kids.  We bought in a new subdivision so we were the second house built on the street and the first house owned.  It's been fun watching a whole neighborhood go up.  One of Julian's classmates (Adam) lives two doors down so Julian and Adam are always together.  I reconnected with an old ID friend from when Julian was a baby.  She has a five year old (Lilly) that is Adrianna's age so Adrianna has her first best friend.  Recently she also had her first sleepover with Lilly as well.  To those who sent Christmas cards to our old address, they were forwarded and I did receive them.  THANK YOU!

On to other news... we just got back from visiting family in CA for Christmas.  We were only there a short time but we enjoyed what little time we had.  We drove there and the kids were SO well behaved for the 11 hour drive!  I was very proud of them.
